Tourism Cremona, ideas for visiting Lombardy

Tourism Cremona. Located at the core of the Po Valley, bordering with the Emilia Romagna Region, it is a one-of-a-kind crossroads between land and sea, making it the perfect spot for tourism in Lombardy. The Rivers Po, Oglio Serio and Ada outline a unique countryside scenery that is worth visiting.

Construction of a water canal system done over the centuries by its inhabitants has turned it into a fertile soil suitable for growing outstanding produce such as wheat, corn, sugar beets, pumpkins and tomatoes.

Those visiting Cremona will be able to admire its important historical remains. The first archaeological findings in the area date all the way to the Mesolithic and can be seen at the Platina di Piadena Museum of Archaeology. The Lagazzi di Vho site can also be found here, it dates back to the Bronze Age and represents the oldest dwellings in levelled fields. Due to this peculiarity, Unesco has labelled it as the "Stilts of the Alpine Range".

Tourism in Cremona means numerous food and wine specialties that you should not miss. Its famous nougat boasts a wide assortment of varieties and recipes. If you have a sweet tooth, an annual festival dedicated to it is the right occasion for visiting Cremona.
