Bridge of Paderno d'Adda Mario Donadoni

Inside the Adda Nord Park you can admire the Bridge of Pardeno d'Adda. The iron bridge is widely considered to be the true symbol of industrial archaeology in Italy and one of the most interesting achievements of Italian engineering in the 19th century. Built between 1887 and 1889 by the Società Nazionale delle Officine Savigliano and designed by the Swiss engineer Rothlisberger, the bridge is 266 metres long and is intersected by the railway and the local road to Bergamo. The bridge of Paderno d'Adda is one of the most interesting examples of the era in which steel, iron and cast iron were the true symbols of human progress.
