Santa Caterina Valfurva is part of the largest European ski area with thirty-five kilometres of slopes for every level of difficulty that wind through the centre of the village, at an altitude of 1,738 metres, and the 2,800 metre height of the slopes of Mount Sobretta , all served an innovative ski life system. Thanks to a favourable climate and the programmed artificial snow system, perfect snow is guaranteed from November to April.
Skiing in Santa Caterina Valfurva means experiencing the thrill of the Deborah Compagnoni trail, inaugurated in 2005 for the Alpine World Ski Championships and equipped with a floodlight system for night events, but it also means delving into the heart of unspoilt and welcoming nature.
Dominated by the peaks of the Ortler Alps and the Forni glacier, the most extensive in the Italian Alps , the ski area of Santa Caterina is also perfect for those who love telemark, cross country skiing, with two rings that penetrate fifteen kilometres in the woods, for snowboarders and for children learning to ski, with the modern ski school equipped with transport belt.
Those wishing to just enjoy the silence of the mountain will certainly appreciate the ski touring, to penetrate in the heart of the Stelvio National Park.
